JAMMU: A pigeon with a ring around its leg was found in Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), triggering alarm among Indian agencies.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the pigeon was found in a village in the Hiranagar area of the district, located near the Working Boundary.
Local villagers caught the pigeon and handed it over to the police. Subsequently, Indian agencies took the pigeon into their custody and launched an investigation into the matter.
This is the fourth such incident reported in the Hiranagar area in recent days.
The discovery of birds, particularly pigeons, in areas near the Line of Control and Working Boundary in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, followed by allegations in India that they are being used for espionage, is a recurring phenomenon.
Indian forces’ personnel and media have, on several occasions, labelled harmless birds as “Pakistani spies” and portrayed them as security threats. Such incidents have drawn ridicule and have also been cited as examples of unwarranted Indian propaganda against Pakistan
